The changing spirit of brutalism

Light, matter and brutalist suggestions guide Punto Zero's project in a 100 square metre flat in Rome's Trieste district.

Description

The owners, a couple of art collectors, wanted a customised, fluid and personal space. The load-bearing structure, left exposed, becomes the protagonist of the living area, softened by the warmth of the oak parquet and a calibrated use of colour. The kitchen opens up like a total green capsule, with Cementoresina flooring and Decor walls and ceilings, all in Natural Green KK52. This colour niche is enhanced by lacquered furniture, Guatemala marble and a contrasting yellow coffee table. In the night area, the bluish-green room anticipates two contrasting bathrooms: one bright, in shades of mustard and white, with floors in Cementoresina KK8 and walls and ceilings in Patina KK10; the other more enveloping, in the Neutral Pink KK123 palette, with floors and shower in Cementoresina, walls in Patina and ceilings in Decor.
